100 YEARS OF SKI FASHION AND FUNCTION

Take a step back in time, courtesy of the fashions that accompanied the evolution of Colorado’s ski industry, from the 1910s to the 2020s. Artist Lamont Joseph White was invited to help the Colorado Snowsports Museum revamp their “100 Years of Ski Fashion” exhibition through the lens of the fashion and history of the National Brotherhood of Skiers (NBS), as they celebrate their 50th Anniversary Black Ski Summit in Vail, Colorado this winter. The new exhibit displays clothing and photos from NBS members, original artwork by Lamont, and a timeline highlighting NBS history. Learn more about this exhibit HERE.

JAMES BOND “A VIEW TO A KILL” DISPLAY

Our newest display since the renovation highlights a slice of pop culture and the first snowboard many people ever saw. Generously on loan to us by Hilary Sims, this Tom Sims snowboard is the one James Bond rode in the 1984 movie "A View to A Kill," when Bond escapes the bad guys by taking the front skid of a snowmobile and using it as a snowboard. Learn more about this exhibit HERE.
