Elli Iselin
In 1939, Elli immigrated to the United States from Austria. After meeting her husband Fred in Sun Valley, Idaho, the couple moved to Aspen where she became the first woman to teach skiing for the Aspen Ski School. In 1954, she opened Elli’s of Aspen, a ski store that introduced Aspen to the ski fashions of Europe. She designed her own ski clothing and soon became the epicenter of ski fashion in North America.
